FAQ
Q: Can babies this young really benefit from the PIP programme?
A: The earlier you start, the more quickly your baby can “learn how to learn.” In addition, we will be able to detect whether or not your baby is reaching their developmental milestones and can recommend specific activities, if needed, to aid in this respect.
Q: Is 75 minutes too long for my 6-8 weeks old baby?
A: PIP has been designed to gently introduce new concepts to infants. Each lesson is progressive and strives to let each baby learn at their own pace, in a supportive environment.
Q: Why are the babies naked?
A: Babies don’t wear clothing to give them the full range of motion and especially to prevent restriction of the hip flexor muscles.
Q: Is the activities room warm enough?
A: The temperature of the room is kept between 24-25 degrees Celsius. This is the perfect warmth for babies at work and for parents working with their babies.
Q: Can my helper attend the classes instead of me?
A: PIP is a International Parent-Infant Program that encourages family interactions. The activities and exercises are designed so that parents can stimulate their babies at home. If a parent has to travel, we will endeavor to arrange a make-up lesson during the same week and in exceptional cases, a helper might be accepted alongside a family member.
Q: Are there separate classes for special needs babies?
A: Special needs babies are integrated into a group appropriate to their developmental level. PIP is a great follow-up to other therapies, as it offers playful, yet challenging and engaging options.
Q: What about germs and communicable diseases?
A: PIP maintains a high standard of hygiene. Much care is taken in disinfection processes after each class. We ask parents to keep their child absent if they are unwell for the protection of everyone.
Q: Can I pay per class, or do I have to register for the entire course?
A: You must sign up for the entire series of lessons. All fees must be paid before the term starts. You can purchase your classes here.
Q: Can I buy the PIP toys that are used in the lessons?
A: Babies are stimulated more when there is a difference between toys used at home and those at PIP classes.
Q: Is it possible to have a private group?
A: Yes, private groups can be arranged provided babies are born in the same month and the schedule permits. Payment for these groups must be received in advance.
Q: Do you give private lessons?
A: A founding principle of PIP is to socialise babies at an early age and interaction is a cornerstone of the program. Thus, private lessons are not given, unless there is a developmental need.
